“It is so great to witness the transformation of our Chinese friends,” our Filipino missionary told us a few days ago. “It is truly encouraging and inspiring as we have played a small part in helping them open their hearts and minds to reach out to those in need. They are not only thinking of themselves anymore, but are sharing their life with others.”
The Hub is experiencing a revival. Students from all over the country are coming to see what all the talk about this English Corner is about. Little do most of them know that our English Corner is simply a platform for us to get our feet in the door of their lives and share the message of Jesus Christ. And we are seeing amazing breathrough.
We have spent many long and hard hours building relationships with these college students—the future leaders of China. And it is no longer the days of Hudson Taylor, where you have to wait years to see the fruit spring up. We are blazing new trails upon the long gone footprints of missionaries past, seeing a harvest of souls grow quickly.
The Hub students have caught the vision to sow their lives into something beyond simply their own interests and the “China dream.” Every week we bring volunteers to Love For The Poor‘s children’s center to teach English to the little orphans and migrant workers’ kids. The kids love to have older mentors come share with them. And The Hub students are being changed as they give of themselves for nothing in return.
“At first we were the only ones bringing gifts to the children, spending time sowing into their lives. Now The Hub students are excited to buy things for the children and give it to them. We have assigned teams to lead games and songs, and it is a fun time of ministry.”
That’s how we see many Within Reach Global ministries happening right now: each ministry flowing into the other, inspiring more people to jump on board and more ministries to be started.
Please pray for the young people involved in The Hub. They are meeting Jesus for the first time in their lives, and being encouraged to be a part of Christian ministry—sometimes before they are even believers! We are trusting for a greater revival that spreads throughout the nation to young people who are willing to give all for the call of God on their lives.
“After the kids ministry is over, on the ride home, The Hub students tell us how they are overjoyed and delighted to help less fortunate children,” our local missionary told us. “It’s something they have never been a part of before, and Within Reach Global is giving them the opportunity to transform their own culture!”
