Assanee and Chalida Supapworakun serve as indigenous missionaries at Within reach Global. They are a Karen/Thai couple from Thailand and are parents to their three wonderful kids, Kanit (Jack), Peter, and Tidarat (Kaem). Before joining WRG, they have been instrumental church planting and pastoral leaders at a number of different organizations.
From 1995 to 2000, they served as the mission directors on the church planting team at New Life Ministry Foundation. There they planted 3 churches among the Karen Pwo tribe in Omkoi District, 3 churches among Karen Pwo in Hot District, 3 churches among the Lisu tribe in Pai District, 1 church among the Karen Sgaw tribe in Samerng District, and 2 churches among the Lisu tribe in Chiang Dao District.
In 2001, Assanee and Chalida served at Care Conner Foundation, a Thailand-based Foundation focused on orphan care.
Between 2002 to 2004, they served at Mae Jo Church on the church planting leadership team working among the Shan people.
From 2005 to 2017, they served at the Shan Outreach Center as the church planting and pastoral leadership team. There they helped plant a church in Chiang Mai. The church focused on Karen and Thai young people.
In 2018, they planted Chosen Generation Church, and continue to serve as lead pastors until now.
Assanee and Chalida joined Within Reach Global in 2020, and presently serve as evangelists and church planters in our Thai Outreach Department.
Assanee and Chalida have a passion for church planting among tribal ethnic groups and unreached people. Their heart and vision have always been to raise up a young generation to know God. They desire to see Thais meet Jesus, and be fathered, discipled, and committed to pursuing God’s heart for the nations. They focus on bringing the gospel to Chiang Mai’s surrounding villages and raising up disciples in the urban setting at Chosen Generation Church. They have faced persecution, difficulties, and challenges throughout their years of Christian service, but God solidified their commitment to reaching gospel-deprived peoples.
Today, they are crucial leaders who are dedicated to making Jesus known in places devoid of a gospel imprint.
