In the first week of November, all the Within Reach Global local missionaries and foreign staff gathered together for a 3 day convention at The Hub outreach center. Many of them traveled nearly 10 hours from our other outreach centers that they minister at.
We heard some amazing reports, evaluation from the past months of ministry, strategic planning for the coming years and reviewing our vision and mission statement.
We are trailblazers, bringing light and living water to unreached people groups!
There are some hurdles—from family and governmental persecution, to poverty, cross cultural difficulties, and dealing with hard hearts. Yet these unknown heroes are not giving up. In fact, our hearts burst with joy as our underground local missionaries are becoming more passionate about reaching the lost in creative ways!
Sister Deng wept with compassion as she shared her heart to open the first ever children’s ministry outreach among the Yao people group. In the history of the planet, there has never been a ministry like this among her tribe! We were thrilled at the idea, and feel that it is a great ministry to start reaching the young generation, and in turn, their families and villages.
Please pray for us and for the Yao tribe, as we just found out that the government relocated all the villagers into tents, and bulldozed all the houses to build a new community. We are still uncertain how they will be compensated. It could turn out to be a good thing, but the families that our local missionaries are ministering to are all affected.
But in transition and calamity, there is great opportunity for sharing God’s grace and love.
The student ministry is growing non-stop as we reach college students through English Corners, discipleship dinners, teaching musical instruments and simply hanging out with them after classes almost everyday of the week.
Our Within Reach Global student ministry team is very busy every day. There are only a few missionaries reaching thousands of unreached college students.
Teams from local underground churches and churches from outside the country are also starting to recognize the work among the unreached through the Within Reach Global local missionaries. Next year we will be busy bringing these missionary teams to our outreach centers to show them how reaching the unreached is being done and how to partner together to speed the Great Commission in the region.
The last day of our convention was focused on team building. We were honored to have internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and life coach Kevin Stebbings help us weed through some team issues and challenges. In the end, the result was love, understanding and unity.
Thank you for partnering with us prayerfully and financially to impact thousands of unreached tribes and college students. You are a powerful part of this team, and we cannot do this without you!
