In May we hosted the first ever English Camp for The Hub students. At that time, over 40 students attended and heard about Jesus. Well, we thought it was about time to gather a brand new batch of young people and host another Within Reach Global English Camp this December.
This time over 45 students attended. These young people have come from all over the country to attend one of the many universities in our city. Most of them have heard a little bit about Jesus, and have read very small portions of the Bible as required reading in their communist classes. But Jesus was just a figure in history, and they are taught that religion is a poison in society.
We gave them an entire new take on Jesus Christ.

Day one. After registration, we gathered for lunch, and told them a little bit about the theme for the English Camp: Stepping Into Success. We wanted to empower them with the true meaning of success: believing in Jesus Christ, and making Him their Lord and Savior.
Remember, hosting this kind of a camp and sharing the message of Jesus is illegal in the place we are located. But as we step out boldly, God blesses every time.
In the afternoon and evening, we split the students into four separate teams and played team building games. After each game there was a time of group discussion, with questions leading them to the cross.
After dinner, we gathered all the students in an open meeting hall, and broadcasted a powerful Christian video from our projector to the wall of the meeting area. It was the testimony of Nick Vujicic, who was born without arms and legs, his battles in life, and his faith in Jesus Christ. There was not a dry eye among our students as each other them watched Nick overcome his personal struggles and meet his Savior.
After the video, one of the Within Reach Global missionaries preached the message of salvation to the 45 students who attended the English Camp. Even after we concluded, many of the students approached us asking questions and expressing their interest in how to know God.
Day two. After breakfast, we played more team building games, and a bond began to grow among the students and the leaders. Our English Camp ended after lunch, and we believe that seeds were sown deep into each ones hearts. In fact, a few days after the Within Reach Global English Camp, we invited the students to an evangelistic Christmas stage play where they were blasted with another dose of God’s love for them.
We are now hosting a weekly discipleship class for students who have got saved, or are on their own journey toward meeting Jesus.
It sounds so simple, doesn’t it? There’s no special formula for reaching unreached students in Southeast Asia. You simply step out in boldness and share the message of Christ with love.
God’s got His radar on the students at The Hub, and there’s no escaping His salvation message now.
