Jeow is a passionate soul-winner with a strong desire to open doors of opportunity for people to come to faith in Jesus Christ. She is gifted in evangelism and discipleship with the ultimate goal of welcoming people to become part of a local church in Thailand.

Jeow is presently serving at Victory Church Chiang Mai, our partner church with a strong focus on reaching Thailand’s young generation.

Jeow speaks fluent Thai, English, and Karen, and has been instrumental in the growth of church efforts. She is a regular-scheduled interpreter at Victory Church and is currently involved in evangelism, discipleship, church planting, pastoral care, leadership training, and cell group initiatives at Victory Church and Within Reach Global.

Jeow and her daughter, Tara, have been integral parts of the body of Christ for years, and we believe strongly in supporting them as local missionaries who reaching Thailand for Christ.

In 2022, Gilbert and Maribel Unica, and their two children, joined Within Reach Global to serve unreached people groups in Thailand. The Unicas are a pivotal part of the ministry among the Chinese, Thai, and tribal groups in Thailand.

History and bio:

Gilbert was initially sent out by his church in the Philippines. He trained in Asian Center for Missions Philippines (ACM) as a cross-cultural missionary to unreached people groups in 2000 and deployed as a career missionary in 2002-2019.

Maribel was sent out by her Filipino church in Hong Kong, trained in Asian Center for Mobilization (Hong Kong), and deployed as a career missionary in 2001-2019. Their missionary involvement includes:

• Children and youth ministry
• Campus ministry
• Underground Bible school training
• Teaching and equipping new believers.

Gilbert and Maribel met in Southeast Asia during an international mission exposure trip in 2002. At that time, they both sensed God calling them to long-term missions as a couple in Asia.

They were married on December 29, 2006. God blessed them with two children: Paul Jabez was born in 2011 and Qianna was born in 2017. Both children were born on the mission field.

During their service, the Unicas trained and discipled young indigenous believers as full-time Christian workers. These believers became church leaders and pastors to their own people groups in the country they served.

The Unicas returned to the Philippines in December 2019 for a month-long vacation. Though they longed to return to the mission field, the COVID-19 pandemic left them stranded in their hometown. There, they helped their local church in evangelism and mission outreach.

Assanee and Chalida Supapworakun serve as indigenous missionaries at Within reach Global. They are a Karen/Thai couple from Thailand and are parents to their three wonderful kids, Kanit (Jack), Peter, and Tidarat (Kaem). Before joining WRG, they have been instrumental church planting and pastoral leaders at a number of different organizations.

From 1995 to 2000, they served as the mission directors on the church planting team at New Life Ministry Foundation. There they planted 3 churches among the Karen Pwo tribe in Omkoi District, 3 churches among Karen Pwo in Hot District, 3 churches among the Lisu tribe in Pai District, 1 church among the Karen Sgaw tribe in Samerng District, and 2 churches among the Lisu tribe in Chiang Dao District.

In 2001, Assanee and Chalida served at Care Conner Foundation, a Thailand-based Foundation focused on orphan care.

Between 2002 to 2004, they served at Mae Jo Church on the church planting leadership team working among the Shan people.

From 2005 to 2017, they served at the Shan Outreach Center as the church planting and pastoral leadership team. There they helped plant a church in Chiang Mai. The church focused on Karen and Thai young people.

In 2018, they planted Chosen Generation Church, and continue to serve as lead pastors until now.

Assanee and Chalida joined Within Reach Global in 2020, and presently serve as evangelists and church planters in our Thai Outreach Department.

Assanee and Chalida have a passion for church planting among tribal ethnic groups and unreached people. Their heart and vision have always been to raise up a young generation to know God. They desire to see Thais meet Jesus, and be fathered, discipled, and committed to pursuing God’s heart for the nations. They focus on bringing the gospel to Chiang Mai’s surrounding villages and raising up disciples in the urban setting at Chosen Generation Church. They have faced persecution, difficulties, and challenges throughout their years of Christian service, but God solidified their commitment to reaching gospel-deprived peoples.

Today, they are crucial leaders who are dedicated to making Jesus known in places devoid of a gospel imprint.

Wijit and Poppy are dedicated Karen/Thai missionaries serving at Within Reach Global in Thailand. Gifted with linguistic skills (they both speak Karen, Thai, and English), they empower our outreach efforts among people who have never heard of Jesus before.

Their hearts for people open new doors of opportunity as they disciple new believers in the faith. Serving in the Thai Outreach Department, they regularly travel to unreached villages to help give gospel access through evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. They also play key roles in Compassion Ministries where Within Reach Global implements food distributions, poverty alleviation, and community support. These dedicated indigenous missionaries represent the next wave of locally-led outreach in Thailand and beyond.

Wijit and Poppy are Spirit-led leaders who are not afraid to pray for the sick and expect miracles. Through their service, they’ve seen hope arrive in hopeless communities and even witnessed healing, salvation, and lives changed through the power of the gospel. They aspire to reveal Jesus to unreached people so they experience God’s love, grace, and glory.

As they serve at Within Reach Global, Wijit and Poppy desire to help create a discipleship culture and implement multiplicative disciple-making movements (DMM). Their ministry niche also encompasses outreach to young people and children’s ministry.

If there’s anyone who can plant a church in a difficult region it’s Brother John. Within a 6 month period, God used this humble servant to establish 12 new churches among his own people group! All this happened amidst anti-Christ cult activity and government persecution.

What’s his secret? Perhaps he takes Jesus’ words to heart on a daily basis: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” Brother John knows that apart from the presence of God he can do nothing.

Brother John is a jovial man in his early fifties, a husband, and father of 2 teenage children. He and his wife have a deep love for people. This love is expressed through evangelism, discipleship, and Christian community. He has a pastoral heart and is passionate about raising up new Christians.

Unreached people groups surround the area where Brother John and his family reside. And if that barrier to the gospel were not enough, Wang Jianwei and his family have experienced a number of recent spiritual attacks, seeking to render their evangelistic family useless. First, a car accident that left him toothless and beat up. Second, regular police visits and scrutiny. Third, torrential rains that destroyed the family’s ramshackle home.

But each of these spiritual attacks only served to embolden Brother John’s evangelistic fervor! Our local missionaries gathered together and are helping rebuild his family’s home now.

Come difficulty or dismay, Brother John continues to plant new underground churches and usher in the advent of Christian revival among unreached people groups!

Zhou Guangming may be one of the most unassuming missionary heroes out there. From a physical standpoint, he is often overlooked and even marginalized. As a young child, he fell from a tree, broke his leg, and his family was too poor to obtain medical care for him. His right leg atrophied, the following effect mere skin on shriveled shin. The reality, however, is that Zhou Guangming doesn’t even realize his handicap!

Every week, Zhou Guangming hikes up uncharted mountains to the homes of unreached tribes. Crutches under his armpits, he traverses the agrarian terrain with extraordinary ease, a broad smile ever on his face. One of his unique specialties is helps ministry wherein he cuts the toenails and grooms the feet of Buddhist monks! This holistic approach has opened many communities to the love of Jesus.

Zhou Guangming and his wife oversee ministry at 26 Tribes Outreach Center. Together with their 2 children, this local missionary family is focused on some of the least-reached people groups in Southeast Asia. They also lead an underground house church, teach worship, flow in the gift of healing, and minister to transient urban workers.

Zhou Guangming was instrumental in pioneering ministry among the unreached at Pilot Outreach Center with Zhang Rong. His uplifting countenance and servant-hearted spirit leave a deep impression of God’s goodness wherever he goes. He is a fountain of Christian hope and joy, a witness of God’s grace and glory, handpicked by God himself to accomplish wonderful things for the kingdom.

Liu Zhenmei epitomizes the positive aspect of the Chinese phrase that “women are tigers”. Energetic, eager, and wildly passionate about unreached people groups, Liu Zhenmei has excelled at connecting local Chinese churches to the Great Commission heart of God.

Liu Zhenmei and her husband are catalysts for unity in China, mobilizing a generation to tackle the final frontier of missions among least-reached tribes. They reside with their 3 children in the urban context and oversee the underground church plant at The Hub Outreach Center.

They are interwoven together with a network of church planters, evangelists, and local Christian leaders who themselves represent numerous ethnic tribes in China. Their heart and passion are to spark Kingdom movements among the remaining unreached people groups in Southwest China.

Liu Zhenmei has been instrumental in expanding The Edge Outreach Center. During her time on the China/Myanmar border, she led over 300 children to Jesus and raised them as fiery Christian witnesses in the face of unbridled persecution, severe drug addiction, and rampant poverty. These young children, ages 7 to 15, became gospel firebrands, prophesying over strangers, interceding for family members, and preaching the message of God’s grace and glory in a region where it was not previously known.

Liu Zhenmei and her husband represent a young generation of local Chinese missionaries who are awakening their nation to the knowledge of a Savior. They lead an underground church, teach worship classes, host underground leadership trainings, and travel to rural unreached villages.

Through a holistic gospel approach, they regularly see wondrous miracles and kingdom breakthroughs during hospital visitations, urban outreach, and rural ministry.

They used to call him the Frog Prince because of his stature. But as the story unfolded, Li Fuliang became a true prince, a son of the Most High God, a local missionary among his own unreached tribe!

His story is dramatic: local unreached alcoholic drunk-punches Within Reach Global indigenous missionary Zhang Rong who repays him with nothing but grace. Soon after, Li Fuliang breaks down in tears, gives his life to Christ, joins Zhang Rong as a local missionary, is instrumental in the healing of a young tribal woman, falls in love with her, and marries her.

Crazy, we know, but we’re not making this stuff up!

Today, Li Fuliang, his wife, and 2 kids reside at Pilot Outreach Center and desire to see their own tribe come to know Jesus. They work together with inndigenous missionary and coworker, Deng Fengli. There are very few known Christians among their ethnic minority group but Li Fuliang’s own story is a testimony to the power of God in their midst.

Pilot outreach center is situated in an epicenter of human trafficking (Vietnamese girls to China), alcohol abuse, anti-Christ cult activity, overwhelming poverty, and deep spiritual darkness. A dragon has long resided in these precipitous mountains, clasping local communities in its fierce claws, unwilling that light penetrates his lair.

But amidst persecution and government-led interrogations, Li Fuliang and his family are committed to reaching his precious tribe with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Deng Fengli first heard about Jesus during one of our evangelistic trips to his unreached tribe. Growing up a rural farming background in Southeast Asia, he had never before been presented with the message of the Gospel. We immediately sensed his spiritual hunger.

After giving his life to the Lord, attending a year-long underground Bible school, and growing under intentional discipleship, Deng Fengli’s passion for his unreached tribe was birthed. He returned to his hometown and began a grassroots ministry to his unreached community.

Deng Fengli by nature is a soft-spoken, introverted young man. Some might have even considered him overly shy and unable to create gospel impact. But that all changed after he experienced persecution firsthand.

During a trip to the unreached tribe surrounding Pilot Outreach Center, police apprehended and interrogated our entire missionary team, and physically beat up Deng Fengli. He was, after all, the only one of our local missionaries to experience the blow of a fist on cheek or sting of a cigarette butt on tender skin.

After his firsthand experience of persecution for the sake of the gospel, Deng Fengli’s faith emboldened, his spirit strengthened, and his evangelistic fervor stoked! He asked the girl of his dreams to marry him and now he and his wife live and reside within one kilometer of the police station where he was beaten up.

Deng Fengli and his wife continue to minister to families around Pilot Outreach Center, baptize new believers, disciple Christians, and witness the grace and glory of God arrive in a region where it was previously unknown.
