If ever there was a story of ashes to beauty, the life of Bright Eyes epitomizes it. Her journey can still be found etched in the scars on her wrists. As a young woman, she grew up in a fatherless home with a mother who was addicted to gambling. But God had a bigger dream for her and is penning her narrative in glorious prose.
Soon after joining our ministry activities at The Hub Outreach Center, Bright Eyes had a dream of divine proportions. In her dream, Jesus clasped her hand and she joined a group of poor children holding hands in a circle. “I will use you to bless these little ones,” Jesus told her. She gave her life to the Lord and returned to her hometown after it had just been rocked by a magnitude 6.1 earthquake, killing 367 people.
Her heart broke for the neglected orphans and underprivileged children in the region who were sleeping in the mud behind abandoned shacks. Something had to be done and she stepped up to the plate. She is a master of out-of-the-box thinking, giving little children an opportunity to serve and experience the Lord through homeless feeding programs and Spirit-led worship sessions.
Today, Bright Eyes oversees ministry to over 1,500 orphans and underprivileged children in 74 villages at The Cliff Outreach Center! Street preaching and overt outreach are highly illegal in her area. Still, she often stands in the city square, singing worship songs, and openly publicly preaching the gospel!
She has seen her fair share of persecution and government pressure but gladly rejoices to be used by God in mighty ways.
