// How to Give //
Contact your employer to determine if they have a program for matching gifts for donations made to 501c3 non-profit organizations. Once you determine that your employer can match gifts simply choose how you would like to give and follow the process.

Instead of writing a check to WRG from post-tax dollars, you can multiply your impact by giving your appreciated assets. You transfer part or all your asset to the Within Reach Global Single-Charity Fund at the National Christian Foundation before the sale, and then NCF will liquidate the asset at the right time. The net proceeds go to WRG with the added benefit of eliminating capital gains taxes on the transfer, which can be as high as 20 percent. Publicly traded securities may be gifted via electronic transfer or in certificate form.

If you contribute highly appreciated real estate to Within Reach Global, you may potentially eliminate capital gains tax on the appreciation and be entitled to a fair market value tax deduction for the donation. It can make sense to donate real estate that meets the following criteria:

• The property has been held for more than a year and has appreciated significantly. 
• The property is marketable and relatively easy and cost-effective to liquidate. 
• The property is debt-free. 
• You, as the owner, are willing to irrevocably transfer the property to WRG, which will negotiate the sale price and control the sale, often using an experienced intermediary. 
• Sale negotiations have not proceeded to the point at which the IRS would consider it a prearranged sale, which could result in you bearing the tax liability for any gain on the sale.

Many executives and entrepreneurs find that their most appreciated assets come in the form of non-cash assets (privately held C- and S-Corp stock, IPO stock, limited partnerships or LLC interests), often with a low-cost basis and significant current market value, resulting in large capital gains taxes when sold. By donating a portion of these highly appreciated privately held business interests to Within Reach Global you can potentially eliminate capital gains tax liability on the sale and take a full, fair market value income tax deduction if you itemize. Make a difference today and save on taxes. It’s possible when you support Within Reach Global through your IRA. Allows those 70½ years and older to make a tax-free gift up to $100,000 from their IRA.

You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as WRG without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value of $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference for the kingdom. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Why Consider This Gift?

• Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.
• Beginning in the year you turn 72, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
• You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
• Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.

For Those 59½ Years Old or Older
If you’re at least 59½ years old, you can take a distribution and then make a gift from your IRA without penalty. If you itemize your deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift.

At Any Age
No matter your age, you can designate Within Reach Global as the beneficiary of all or a percentage of your IRA and it will pass to us tax-free after your lifetime. It’s simple, just requiring that you contact your IRA administrator for a change-of-beneficiary form or download a form from your provider’s website.

Tip: It’s critical to let us know of your gift because many popular retirement plan administrators assume no obligation to notify a charity of your designation. The administrator also will not monitor whether your gift designations are followed. We would love to talk to you about your intentions to ensure that they are followed as well thank you for your generosity.
