The need

A lack of gospel access

In Thailand, meaningful gospel outreach on university campuses has been strikingly rare. Most Thai college students have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel, and few ministries have established a lasting presence where future leaders are being shaped. Thanks to generous donors, Within Reach Global raised $110,000 to meet this need and launch a strategic student outreach center in Chiang Mai.

The idea

A dynamic campus outreach center

In May 2024, Within Reach Global opened the Fusion Center near Chiang Mai University and Rajamangala University, placing a gospel presence in the heart of a student population of roughly 50,000. Built on a Business as Mission model, the Fusion Center was designed to open doors for evangelism, discipleship, and church planting through Red Panda Café, a free game room, language training, Alpha Courses, and student-focused events.

Making disciples among the unreached

Because of this project, Thai university students now have a place to encounter the gospel, build authentic relationships, and grow as disciples of Jesus. The Fusion Center has become a gospel beachhead among the next generation—creating ongoing opportunities for outreach, leadership development, prayer, and disciple-making advancements in Thailand and beyond.

The Fusion Center was strategically planted between Chiang Mai University and Rajamangala University, giving us access to a student population of nearly 50,000. Since opening in May 2024, more than 4,000 Thai college students have already walked through our doors—creating daily opportunities to share the gospel, build relationships, and make disciples among the next generation of leaders in Thailand.

Our focus is Thai university students who have come to Chiang Mai from across the nation for a critical four-year season of life. Many come from Buddhist backgrounds and have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel. At the same time, they are navigating deep anxiety, uncertainty, and spiritual need. These students represent one of the most strategic and spiritually open mission fields in the 10/40 Window.

The Fusion Center was designed for sustainability. Through a Business as Mission model—including Red Panda Café—the project is steadily moving toward self-sufficiency while freeing local leaders to focus on evangelism, discipleship, and ministry. Outreach flows through Within Reach Global staff and our partners, helping cultivate strong, indigenous, church-based discipleship rather than dependency on outside workers.

Collaboration is central to this project. The Fusion Center works closely with gospel-centered ministries and churches to expand outreach, strengthen discipleship, and build a lasting witness among university students.

The Fusion Center exists to bring gospel access to students who may otherwise never hear the name of Jesus in a meaningful way. By reaching Thai university students, discipling new believers, and connecting them to the local church, this project is helping establish a gospel witness among one of Southeast Asia’s most unreached populations.
