"The ends of the earth" is a perfect description for this center. 12 miles from Myanmar, The Edge is the farthest Within Reach Global ministry from the center of the province. It is also one of the hardest areas to reach with the gospel.

We first traveled to this area in 1999. At that time it was more than a 24 hour by bus. Through the winding roads and bumpy terrain, overnight sleeper buses were the only mode of transportation. It was evident why the people groups in this area had been so long overlooked by the gospel.

But God was always at work.

Although there has been a Christian witness among the people groups in the area for over a century, it has been difficult to saturate their lifestyle with the good news. The Cultural Revolution and government persecution has pressured these precious people groups to turn from the faith.

Faith turned into religion, and the heavy animistic culture–even headhunting practices–beared its teeth. A whole generation slipped into darkness without a remedy.

After years of prayer for the tribal groups in the area, we were finally able to establish The Edge as a bright light in the midst of the unreached.

The Edge is home to Within Reach Global's children's ministry. Encouraged by a visiting supporter to "touch the children", The Edge ministry is helping transform countless lives. 30 children regularly attend our vacation Bible school, and their parents are now becoming aware of God's presence as well.

Our local co-workers also travel to the surrounding villages preaching the name of Jesus. They regularly experience physical healings, cast out demons, and see signs and wonders wherever they go. As Jesus' name is lifted up, many are being drawn unto Him.
